Wolverhampton defender Rayan Aitnuri will wear the Manchester City jersey.
Manchester City, a powerhouse in the English professional football Premier League, announced on the 10th (Korea Standard Time) that it has recruited 24-year-old left fullback Aitnuri from Wolverhampton and that the contract period is five years until the summer of 2030.
Although the transfer fee was not disclosed, the BBC reported that Manchester City spent 31 million pounds (about 56.9 billion won) to recruit Aitnuri, who has a year left on his contract with Wolverhampton.
Sky Sports added that including the additional £5.3 million option, Manchester City will pay up to £36.3 million (66.7 billion won).
Aitnuri is expected to make its Manchester City debut at the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, which will open in the United States on the 15th.
Aitnuri, who has French and Algerian citizenship, was born in France and plays for Algeria.
He made his professional first team debut in August 2018 after playing for the French club Ange, and was loaned to Wolverhampton in October 2020 before signing a five-year contract the following year.
Since then, he has grown into Wolverhampton's main defender, and has played 41 official games this season, scoring five goals and seven assists despite being a defender, helping his team stay in the Premier League in 16th place.
Manchester City introduced Aitnuri, saying, "We have built a reputation as one of the most interesting fullbacks in the Premier League over the past five years with excellent productivity in the front and ability to stop opponent attacks."
He also praised the player, saying, "It is no exaggeration to say that he is a player who shows the perfect blueprint for fullback in modern soccer."
"Manchester City is one of the world's big clubs, and getting the opportunity to play for this club is like a dream come true," Aitnuri said. "I have high expectations for working and learning with coach Pep Guardiola and other coaches and training and playing with world-class players."
Meanwhile, Wolverhampton's key players have been leaving since the end of the season, with Matheus Cunha, the team's main gun, moving to Manchester United and Aitnuri leaving the team. 스포츠토토
